Christ Center Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church of Japan.
What is the Presbyterian Church of Japan?
The Presbyterian Church of Japan was established on May 3, 1993 as one of the manifestations of the official church. Historically, the "Christian Presbyterian Church of Japan" was established in 1956 and the "Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Japan" was established in 1979 by a group of independent Presbyterian churches after World War II. These joined together in May 1993 to form the Presbyterian Church of Japan, which also inherits the orthodox Presbyterian faith. Currently, there are 67 churches in 6 Presbyteries in 13 prefectures in Japan: Miyagi, Ibaraki, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Yamanashi, Aichi, Mie, Ishikawa, Osaka, Nara, Hyogo, Kagawa, and Tokushima. This is a church based on the Old and New Testaments, the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms (hereinafter referred to as the "Westminster Standards of Faith").
